Kathy's favorite lyric of mine: Ooooohhhhhhh.

about

"A stunning indictment of the state of guitar on the planet today. Wolfgang exposes the truth behind the question: "What can this strange device be"?An album of extraordinary grace and stunning intellectual depth.
"It" (this author suspects "it", may be a "they", or T.H.E.M. Yes. this album may be alive and conscious. [editors note: these views do not express the beliefs of Wolfgang Ink. JK. Yes they totally do. lol.] "
- Snake Pliskin, Escape!, Travel Magazine

"An album that will leave you drooling in existential dystonia, while playing air guitar during spontaneous naps, as you blink, to hide your capitalist sleep shame. A tour deforce of flagrant, brain damaged self exploitation. I bought 20 copies. TBH I bought 50. And they're all digital. Weird. I may buy more."
- Drelt Smivth, ARXON,The Magazine For Snooty Assholes

"Wow. This is indeed 2021. I'm floored. Out of Nowhere, an album that will make you wonder if you turned the stove off.

Oh shit. Did you leave it on?

Don't worry. You did not. You don't even have a stove anymore.
You are in stasis on a giant space ship. When you're awake, you eat meals in the form of "food pills". Surely you've seen them mentioned in
Passing's Yumby Infotainments during your pleasure/pseudo-dream segment of static space BlipNod (tm). I think it's on what you call, Tea Vee".

-Smelp Marplethomptinezsteinderklz, (Ship's Doctor and budding magazine mogul)
Dread Sequilla MagazineZ

"An album of pure bullshit."
- Some Guy Named Lint-o, ArcLamp MagooZeen
(Noat From Wolfgang: You can't trust someone named Lint-o. Ever. They all lie.)

"Robert Fripp says that Brian Eno says that Robert Wyatt says that the ghost of J.S Bach say that Nick Drake's take on Fahey's Impressions Of Susan is sublime, but doesn't come close to the universal mystery thrown into stark, stunning contrast with the rest of reality by the mere existence of Wolfgang's music."

- Zed Wilclox, Near Constant, Existential Panic Review

" A music that has been called Un-possible" by leading physicists and people who are in the Cult Of The GVG. An album that will make you sell your belongings and give toast to the empty.
A scary and upsetting collection of stories, if you know the
Zahnjan music language, Otherwise they are entirely pleasant pieces of music. I can't believe I knew this guy. Gave him a few lessons. Weird dude. Nice though."

-Chip at Raylons, contacted via time machine telephone.

"A musician that has been in the GIneZZ Book Of Whirled RecordZ. For what???? We are legally barred from saying. Rest assured. It was funny. And weird, and related to sedimentary rocks and plastic trees."

-Sneave Merple, TRAG, A Magazine For People Who Words

"An Album". - Smarrm Whistlepop MPR Raydeeoo

From The Artist:

I had all of this music, done, except for the first , second to last and last pieces, before today. A video, recommended to me by a machine was responsible for triggering... No. It was the woman in the video... no, it was what she did, in the video, that triggered the creation of this album. It happened and I went with it.

Here's who's she is, as far as I know: A woman who loves guitar amplifiers, especially the tube variety, of a good vintage. A woman who cares for these wonderful machines and brings them back to their former glory. A woman who loves these devices and loves working on them. She's a guitarist too. Don't know anything about her music though.

Now, this was first thing in the morning, 5 a.m. so my psyche is already vulnerable, from sleepy. I get a recommendation from the computer eyesight television. I click on it. It's one of the "repairing important devices people" I watch. Something soothing about watching certain people giving things new life and talking about it as they do. As someone who is pretty sure "inanimate objects" are conscious, in some way.... Later for that...

There's, Ted Woodford, Mark Walker, Uncle Doug, and this relative newcomer, Colleen Fazio. Good stuff. I noticed something about her right away... oh! She did it again. Did you see that? It was just an old cap. Leaky. Dried up. Or maybe it was a resistor. It's 5 a.m. and I have only had a couple sips of coffee. I saw her do this with a big old resistor once too. In another video. And knobs... Well, who can resist with some of that bakelite?
She picked up that old cap. That's all. The way she did it though. It was going in the trash in the near future, but she handled it with reverence. With care and some awe. I swear I saw her FEEL it. Maybe I'm projecting, and I do not care, because I feel something about this woman. She is a young pro, of course, but she is the real deal amateur. The true meaning of the word. Someone who does a thing for LOVE.
And that's what I saw, so I left a crazy long comment, talking about my brain injury, blah blah, blah... then! Lol! I got the idea to turn my comment into a film, because I was bored, and a chain of ideas had been set in motion in my broken brain. I decided to follow them, and now there's this album. The first song is different from the rest of the album in the sense that it is the only acoustic guitar piece on the album, but fits. I was going to dedicate the middle, all fingerpicked acoustic, except for the e bow tracks, to Colleen, but then I decided that was silly, so, I'll give her the entire song. It was pretty much free for me. Anyway, I hope she likes it. I hope she realizes I dedicate songs to anyone and everything. One of my cartoon characters (yes, I am a cartoonist, all of a sudden, after the accident too. Other stuff too. The cover of this album was probably like the 5th drawing I did in my entire life, and that was in August, this year. Out of the blue. No practice (okay, you can say it... you can tell... hardee harr Harr ) I mean... I can fly and shit.
But look, I'm in my 50s. I have synesthesia and a brain injury and then I had COVID and that made my mind an even weirder place, then the only help I could get was from ketamine clinics... things got weirder... In a good way, then mushrooms and ayahuasca... but I can't do that anymore. No money. No psychic will or energy. That stuff works, but it's hard, hard, work. If only there was a doctor I could go to. I can keep a doctors appointment.
But, we all know, life is difficult. We all know that. And I've got this outlet, some people call it a talent. I call it a set of curses, often. But some people love, love, love my music, And they are nuts about my art, even though I'm brand new. It feel like I need to get this music out there. It helps me. It makes me feel good and calms my brain. Maybe it will help others. This music is all utilitarian at its core. Music for healing a broken brain. That's my hop. I need something.
I've had some people asking, begging, me to put stuff out for decades. It's time.I had my reasons to wait.
I'd like to thank Colleen Fazio for her minor, unknowing, yet ultimately the vital role in my process. She handed me the final piece that set this project in motion. I didn't even know this was going to be an album before this morning.

I appreciate it. Thanks.

Thanks to all of the other people I mentioned too. Especially Uncle Doug... No, Especially Mark. He sounds like my cousin from Durham N.C. Like... just like him. I miss my cousin.
And Ted too. He is getting really good on guitar. Have you noticed that? I wish he could come over to my house and tuck my guitar in at night. I think my guitars would like that.

credits

released December 3, 2021

Wm. Wolfgang Allen - Guitars, Wordless Vocals (although I do catch the occasional, but distinct "moo" now and then. Cows, everywhere.) Some percussion maybe? I don't think any of this stuff has anything other than Strat into an overdrive, into a delay, into a line 6 delay looper (the only way to fly) There's some shaker. No modular though. That stuff is more tripped out. You'll know my modular synth stuff the you hear it. Truly alien guitar music.

Album Art by Wm. Wolfgang Allen.
I started drawing in August 2021, just three months ago. I had drawn for maybe an hour in my life before then. Pretty neat. That's one other thing Colleen helped me with. I was wondering why I drew a lot of garbage dumps mixed with flowers. Now I'm, like duh. Of course. Beauty in old thrown away "junk". How did I not see before. Weird, accidental oracle, Colleen. The cool thing is, that someone I've never met and will probably never meet, had an impact on my life, from such a little thing and I went with it, and gained something pretty cool. More people should explore feelings and shit. :) Rewards await when you trust yourself.

The cats helped a lot, on this one. Especially Huxley and Terence. Pepsi too, but she was doing other stuff, like chasing shadows on the kitchen floor. Do you realize what would happen to the universe if she stopped "playing" with those shadows? Not good. Important cat stuff. But thanks to all the cats for channeling information from other universes and dimensions, so I can translate it though my electrical guitar. I really wonder if the Colleen woman named her business Fazio Electric, as a nod to Steve Albini. Hmmm... Nope. That's "Electrical". It's just my broken brain reaching for connections.

This endeth the credits for this part of the album credits. Other information is embedded, in individual tracks. I am saying redundant stuff, but I am literally waiting for paint to dry. So, how are you doing today? JK. I know we can't talk through here, whoever you are. Don't be silly. Unless you want to. Have a nice day.

about

Wm. Wolfgang Allen Washington, D.C.

A "musician", synesthesiac and professional pet sitter who had a brain injury and then strange piles of music and art started pouring out of his shattered and constantly morphing mind.
Is it worth listening to? It's all Wolfgang listens to these days, and he loves it. But he has a brain injury. So who knows? Broken Music is probably exactly what a Broken Brain requires.
